In a partnership with Certifaction, the Center for Innovative Finance (CIF) of the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Basel co-initiated a project to secure academic credentials on a public Blockchain. Students of some CIF-related courses were issued individual blockchain-secured course completion certificates. After this successful field test, the University of Basel is gradually rolling out the issuance of generic blockchain-secured documents university-wide. Besides that, the project has also been rolled out to multiple academic institutions.
