Blockchain Challenge 2018
The University of Basel and the FHNW offered a joint blockchain course for the first time in the autumn semester of 2018. The format of this annual event is a challenge in which students in groups jointly develop a concrete business case of the participating companies and present it to a jury. The jury consists of representatives of the companies and experts in the blockchain/DLT.
During the semester, the students are assisted by responsible professors, experts, and supervisors from the companies and have to present their progress several times. On the one hand, students are supported in their tasks; on the other, participating companies are ensured to receive high-quality processing of their business cases. At the grand finale at the end of the semester, the groups present their results, with attractive prizes awaiting the best-placed groups.
The winners of the autumn semester 2018 were:
- Team SBB (Jonah Alexander, Jens Müller, Patrice Glaser, Simon Amstutz)
- Team Synpulse (Florian Bitterli, Kevin MacCabe, Sandro Tedone, Lucas Thiel)
- Team Markant (Raphael Knechtli, Edin Velic, Philip Schwarz, Philipp Labhart)
- Team finnova (Akin Göcmen, Fabian Zbinden, Lara Tonet)
