For the second time, the University of Basel is offering a blockchain course in the autumn semester of 2019. The format of this annual event is a challenge in which students develop in groups a concrete business case of the participating companies and present it to a jury. The jury consists of representatives of the companies as well as experts in the field of blockchain/DLT.

During the semester, the students are assisted by the responsible professors, experts and supervisors from the companies and have to present their progress several times. In this way, an environment is created that promotes innovation and creative results. At the grand finale at the end of the semester, the groups present their results, with attractive prizes awaiting the best placed groups.
